Hyperhidrosis of hands and axillary creases is a very widespread pathology. It often leads to functional and emotional problems and can cause professional and social deadaptation. Excessive sweating can be caused by muscular work, mechanical and gustatory stimuli. Nervousness is just one of many stimuli that can cause excessive sweating for patients with primary hyperhidrosis. Primary hyperhidrosis is palmoplanar in more than 80% of cases and is localized in axillary creases in 30% of cases. There is family history in 30 – 50 % of cases.
Intracutaneous injections of botulinum toxin type A effectively inhibit human sweating. No side effects such as muscle weakness or abnormal microcirculation were noted. |
